The past two years many of us have joined the 'pivot club'. Adjusting, reinventing, leading to thriving. My biggest change was really looking into what really serves me, and what doesn't. It wasn't easy, but there's nothing like the "off like a band-aid" method. It works for me, because I want to shed those things that do not serve me. But, I also leave with memories, and exotic travels. Those, I am thankful for. It's about where I am now, and what brought me to this point on the grand journey that matters most.
Leaving it all behind was easy when you are priced out of the city you have lived in. But as real estate, and communities started to rapidly deteriorate around us it was a clear choice. Move. We have always flirted with the idea of moving to some land, but now was the time. The Universe agreed and we landed on 61 acres in the Southern Colorado mountains. And life is thriving.
There's a lot of work to do, but I have an extra cabin just for the studio. Being heavily influenced by my surroundings I have created a balance of nature and art. Doing all the things I want to do! This includes woodworking, and bone processing. The land I live on gives me so many gifts, and I enjoy honoring it in my work. The clock moves a lot slower up here, and I use this time to develop my aesthetic.
You will see all my photography on this website, but my work now lives on Adorned Forest. I invite you to subscribe, and follow this incredible journey full of wilderness, art and mountain living off the beaten path.
